The Symphony of Southeast Texas, directed by Maestro, Chelsea Tipton, returns to Shangri La Gardens at the peak of Scarecrow Festival once again to indulge patrons with a festive evening of seasonal nature and magnificent music. New this year, the program will feature a VOCALIST, Soprano soloist, Abigail Dueppen.

Bring lawn chairs, blankets, and a picnic lunch and soak up the alluring sights and sounds of autumn and art at sunset.

ABOUT THE SYMPHONY

The Symphony of Southeast Texas (SOST) has a 62 year history of providing outstanding music and grand performances in Beaumont. Formerly the Beaumont Symphony Orchestra, the SOST was founded by the Beaumont Symphony Society in 1953.¬† The orchestra is currently made up of approximately¬†70 musicians from communities throughout Southeast Texas and Southwest Louisiana who audition for their positions and are paid for all season rehearsals and performances. Many of the orchestra’s principal musicians are on the faculty of Lamar University and several Lamar University students who perform in the orchestra receive Symphony scholarships.

Come out and enjoy a stroll through Shangri La Gardens and indulge in a festive evening celebrating the collaboration of two of Southeast Texas most amazing features. The Symphony of Southeast Texas will be performing a great selection of Broadway hits.
